Dopplegängers, Domesticity, & Desire: A Reading and Performance

In association with Forces of Nature, Amos Eno Gallery is pleased to present Dopplegängers, Domesticity, and Desire: A Reading and Performance on Friday, September 23 from 7-9 p.m. at its new location at 56 Bogart Street in Brooklyn, NY.
Writers Nicole Callihan, Sarah Kain Gutowski, and Jared Harél will showcase writing that ranges from coy and ironic to seductive and profound, but all focused on the intersection of the body, human sexuality, and science. Harél and Callihan will read selected poems and fiction, while Gabe Eden and David Lloyd Rabig of the comedy podcast Hot Source will read from Gutowski’s new play-in-progress, a comedic examination of porn addiction and our cultural compulsion to over-share.
Nicole Callihan is the author of several volumes of poetry including SuperLoop and The Deeply Flawed Human. She will read from PRIME, an autobiography in prime numbers. Find her on the web at www.nicolecallihan.com.
Sarah Kain Gutowski is the author of Fabulous Beast: The Sow, a chapbook published by Hyacinth Girl Press, and an Associate Professor of English at Suffolk County Community College. Her poems have been published in Verse Daily, The Gettysburg Review, The Southern Review, Epiphany, The Threepenny Review, and So to Speak: A Feminist Journal of Language and Art.
Jared Harél lives in Queens, NY and was awarded the 2015 ‘Stanley Kunitz Memorial Prize’ from American Poetry Review. Additionally, his poems have appeared or are forthcoming in Tin House, The Threepenny Review, The Southern Review, The Massachusetts Review, Poetry Ireland Review and Ecotone. Jared is the author of 'The Body Double', a narrative long-poem published by Brooklyn Arts Press. He also teaches writing at Nassau Community College and plays drums from the twang-rock band, The Dust Engineers.
DAVID LLOYD RABIG attended NYU's Tisch School and has been performing in New York for the last 20 years. His work has been seen at St. Ann's Warehouse, The Ontological-Hysteric, chashama, the Bric, the Joyce Soho, the Culture Project, Rafifi, The Player's Club, and The Bushwick Star, among others. David also has a handful of commercials, voice-overs, short films, and internet videos to his credit.
GABRIEL EDEN (formerly Gabriel Silva), is a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Over the course of 20 years, he has performed all over NYC. A handful of the performances were seen by an audience. Favorite roles include: Exeter in Henry V, Leonato in Much Ado, and Pancake in Mac Wellman's Albanian Softshoe. He is currently the chair of the Performing Arts Department at the Urban Assembly School for the Performing Arts in Harlem.
