Elevate Artists

This June, Elevate 2025 will provide emerging and mid-career visual artists with essential tools, insights, and connections to help advance their careers through a series of virtual panel discussions with art industry experts and an in-person networking event.

Funded by a Cultural Development Fund grant from the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, this free series is designed to provide emerging and mid-career visual artists with the tools, insights, and connections needed to advance their careers.

This program is ideal for artists who are looking to:

  • Expand their professional networks

  • Mount successful solo exhibitions

  • Attract press coverage and critical reviews

  • Build relationships with galleries, institutions, collectors, and consultants


Discussion topics may include:

  • Curatorial practices and building artist-curator relationships

  • What draws critics to cover artists and how to approach the media

  • Securing gallery representation and navigating the commercial art world

  • Making the most of art fairs and networking opportunities

  • Engaging with collectors and art advisors

  • Navigating institutional support, grants, acquisitions, and funding strategies

  • Kelly Olshan, Program Officer, NYFA Learning, New York Foundation for the Arts
