Damien Berdichevsky

Damien Berdichevsky is a multidisciplinary artist born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1961 to a Ukrainian immigrant family. Creatively limited by its political and cultural atmosphere, he relocated to Brazil in 1979.

Damien’s educational studies include: Zen and History of Buddhism at Shobo-An Zen Center in Cordoba, Argentina; Psychology and Dance Theater at the University of Buenos Aires; and the University of Santa Catarina in the city of Florianopolis, Brazil.

By the middle '90s he started working in music and sculpture. Becoming influenced by the surrounding architecture and African culture of the city of Bahia, Brazil, Damien started producing sculptures using wood as his primary medium.  In 1999, Damien moved to New York. He currently lives in Brooklyn and continues to work in art and music.
